Distribution overview: Occurs throughout the West Indies and from southern Mexico through Central America to northern South America and Brazil.￿ Andira inermis is native from southern Mexico to Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. It has been introduced in the Antilles, Caribbean islands, Florida and Africa. In most locations the tree will grow under varying rainfall and soil conditions.
