Distribution overview: The original range is uncertain, now naturalized in much of the eastern U. S. It prefers roadsides, abandoned fields, and old homesites. It's native range was small, along Miss. and Ohio River Valleys, Illinois, Indiana to Arkansas; many disjunct populations.
